Amanda Jordan Joins the ACT 30+ Club

STA Principal José Becerra recognizes senior Amanda Jordan for her composite score of 30 on the ACT College Placement Test.  The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT.  Amanda is the daughter of Michael and Shannon Jordan of Hammond.


BECKY SEALE HONORED AS 2014 STA MOTHER SETON RECIPIENT

The STA Home & School Association has selected Mrs. Becky Seale as the 2014 recipient of the Mother Seton Award.  The award was created to honor those individuals whose volunteer service and dedication to home, school, and church has been exemplary.  Mother Seton recipients have strong Christian values, and a selfless dedication to Catholic education. The Diocese of Baton Rouge honored all Mother Seton recipients at a luncheon on April 1, 2014.

BRIAN GOHRES ’99 CHOSEN AS STA DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE 2014

Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School is pleased to announce Brian Gohres has been chosen as the 2014 Distinguished Graduate.  Since graduating from STA in 1999, Gohres attended Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated magna cum laude in 2003.  He has also earned certifications as an insurance counselor and in customer relations.  He currently serves as the President of Emery & James LTD – Gohres Insurance.

Beautification Day Scheduled

The Home & School Association is once again sponsoring a Beautification Day to help spruce up our campus.  We need volunteers for Saturday, March 29, 8 a.m. until noon, as well as supplies, water, and snacks.  There are plenty of ways to help.

St. Joseph's Altar Today at STA

STA's Campus Ministry Department is excited to host a St. Joseph's Altar this year.  The Altar will be blessed this morning at 10:30 and will be followed by the praying of the Rosary.  All are welcome. Please come by and share in this exciting day with us!

Memorial Mass Honoring Sister Mary Roselle, O.P. Scheduled

“In the beginning there was only a vision,” according to the 1993 edition of Veritas, STA’s yearbook. “But now there is a reality, a thriving Catholic high school in Tangipahoa Parish and Sister Roselle was an integral part in making the dream of STA into a reality.”  Sister Mary Roselle Orso, O.P., the first Principal of Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School, passed away peacefully from the care of her Dominican Sisters to the loving arms of our Lord on Feb. 7, 2014. She served STA as Principal from 1986-1992.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Principal José Becerra recognizes senior Sam Sciortino for his composite score of 31 on the ACT college placement test.  The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT.  Sam is the son of Samuel and Mary Sciortino of Hammond.
