Chapel Renovation Completed

Father Mark Beard and his amazing team of volunteers has recently completed the remodeling of the STA Chapel, with all-new flooring, pews, statues, Stations of the Cross, drapery, and lighting.  Also, the Chapel is home to a new, beautiful Tabernacle, donated by the Class of 2014 as their senior gift. Thank you to Father Mark for his enthusiasm, vision, and effort in making the Chapel a beautiful worship space.


Logan Thompson Joins the ACT 30+ Club

STA Principal José Becerra recognizes junior Logan Thompson for his composite score of 31 on the ACT College Placement Test.  The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT.  Logan is the son of Renee Morgan and Chad Thompson of Independence.

Students Honored for Service

Several students were honored after Mass today for going above and beyond the required service hours during the 2013-14 school year.  Special shout out to Catherine McRae for earning more than 100 hours and to Elizabeth Gobert for earning more than 200 hours of service to our community.

Class of 2018 Enjoys Ice Cream Social

99 ninth-graders gathered at STA for their first event as the "Class of 2018" on Tuesday evening. While their parents attended an informational assembly with administrators, the new freshman class enjoyed ice-breakers and ice cream sundaes in the Theatre with the Advancement team and the STA Student Ambassadors.

Stand Up and Holler for the STA Cheerleaders

Congratulations to the STA Cheerleaders for their recent outstanding accomplishments at camp. The 21-member squad competed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Resort Camp in Gulf Shores, Ala. June 17-20. The team was awarded first place in multiple categories including Cheer, Extreme Routine, Sideline and Band, and Overall Game Day. The squad was also awarded the Traditions award and named Overall Cheer Camp Champs.

STArlettes SHINE at Camp

The STA Starlettes recently completed the Universal Dance Association Dance Camp in Baton Rouge. The team won 1st place in the Home Routine competition, and also received a Superior Trophy for their accomplishments during the week, both of which earn them an automatic bid to UDA’s National Dance Team Championship in Orlando in late January.

Eagle Scout is the highest ranking available in the Boy Scouts of America program and is an achievement you earn for life. In order to achieve this status, Boy Scouts are to earn a minimum of 21 merit badges and to demonstrate leadership, along with the Scout Oath & Law. It also includes an extensive service project which must be organized, planned, led, and managed by the Scout.
