STA Principal José Becerra recognizes junior Alexis Theriot for her composite score of 30 on the ACT College Placement Test.  The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT.  Lexie is the daughter of Andre and Annette Theriot of Hammond.

As the school year comes to an end, the new STA Broadcasting class had an exciting field trip to enjoy at the WWL-TV Channel 4 studios in New Orleans.WWL Executive Producer Dominic Massa hosted the students as they toured the studios, interacted with anchors and reporters, visit the editing and control rooms, and watch the noon news live!

Congratulations to the five STA students who placed at the State Literary Rally at LSU.  They are: (seated) Alexis Theriot, 4th place, Chemistry; Julia Rossano, 1st place English II; (standing) Logan Thompson, 4th place, English III; Butch Bartels, 3rd place, Physics; and Aaron Mixon, 3rd place, Biology II.

Father Randy Cuevas has been the Chaplain at STA for a total of 14 years, so his reassignment to Baton Rouge effective July 1 has hit the Falcon Family rather hard.

Campus Ministry once again hosted a Seder Meal, this year for the senior and sophomore classes. The Seder Meal is in remembrance of the Passover, when the Israelites were in captivity in Egypt. Jesus and the apostles were celebrating the Passover at what we now know as the Last Supper. 

Congratulations to freshman Nicholas Hudspeth for his recent accomplishments in a 4-H Regional Shooting competition.  He placed second in the silhouette pistol competition, third in Camp Perry Round pistol competition, third in slow fire pistol competition, and 3rd in overall shooting.  These accomplishments have qualified Nicholas for the state competition.  Good luck!

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, announced Tuesday that St. Thomas Aquinas High School senior Joshua Husser of Husser, La., has earned an appointment to the Air Force Academy.  Husser will head to Colorado Springs in June. He plans to study Mechanical Engineering.
