The STA community has once again broken a school record in the annual Campus Ministry Thanksgiving Food Drive with today's donation of nearly 3600 items to the Tangi Food Pantry and St. Albert's Catholic Student Center.

The 2014 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City will feature a performance by more than 700 cheerleading and dance team members representing Varsity Spirit. Four cheerleaders from St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond, La. were among those invited to attend. They are seniors Angelle Baiamonte, Jessica Camelo, Carlye Galloway, and Taylor Ridgedell.

STA José Becerra recognizes senior Miranda Howes for her composite score of 30 on the ACT College Placement Test. The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT. Miranda is the daughter of Laci Howes of Loranger.

Congratulations to our STA Cheerleaders and Starlettes for an outstanding performance at last night's Twist N Shout competition. The Cheerleaders placed 2nd in the High School Cheer Division and the Starlettes won 1st in the High School Dance Division. Great job, Ladies!

STA's Family & Consumer Sciences class recently completed a project creating fleece baby blankets. The class will donate the blankets to Restoration House as part of the STA Campus Ministries baby supply drive. FCS teacher Connie Irby said the students had fun making the blankets and learning a new craft, while at the same time being able to participate in STA's mission of service to the community.

Several students from STA's Pro-Life organization attended a local March for Life last week sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. The group marched from Holy Ghost Church to the KC Hall while reciting the rosary. Most of these students will also be attending the national March for Life in Washington D.C. in January.

Congrats to our own CAMERON DANTZLER for being chosen as the Week 5 Player of the Week by the New Orleans Quarterback Club. Dantzler is a junior and plays offensively as quarterback, as well as defensive back. Cameron will be honored at an end-of-season banquet in New Orleans.
