STA INTRODUCES COMMUNITY WIDE 5K COLOR RUN

STA INTRODUCES COMMUNITY WIDE 5K COLOR RUN

St. Thomas Aquinas announces its first “My School Color Run,” scheduled for Saturday, October 17th, with late registration beginning at 8am and the race beginning at 9am. The run is a traditional 5K throughout the STA campus, although walkers, joggers, and strollers are also welcomed.  After the race, everyone is encouraged to stick around for free jambalaya, fruit, water, Powerade, music, and raffles/giveaways.

A color run is an untimed 5K with no winners or prizes where participants are showered with colored water and powder at several stations throughout the course.  There is a huge celebratory powder throw at the completion of the run.
“We’re extremely excited about the launch of the My School Color Run Program at our school,” says Michelle Chauvin, Event Organizer.  “We’re looking forward to involving out entire student body and faculty in a fun and healthy program.  We want to engage the entire community and encourage local businesses and individual community members to get involved.”
Besides individual student pledges, the school is seeking corporate sponsors. The Color Run is open to the public.  Interested participants can register for the run by completing a paper registration form prior to the event or by visiting our event page to register online, www.FalconsMSCR.eventbrite.com.  Anyone interested in a form can contact Michelle Chauvin.
