Stand Up and Holler for the STA Cheerleaders
Congratulations to the Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School Cheerleaders for their recent outstanding accomplishments at camp. The 21-member squad competed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Resort Camp in Gulf Shores, Ala. June 17-20. The team was awarded first place in multiple categories including Cheer, Extreme Routine, Sideline and Band, and Overall Game Day. The squad was also awarded the Traditions award and named Overall Cheer Camp Champs.
All six of the senior Falcon cheerleaders were named to the All-American Cheer Squad. They are Angelle Baiamonte, Jessica Camelo, Cathy Cannino, Carlye Galloway, Taylor Parent, and Taylor Ridgedell. These seniors also all received applications for UCA staff.
"This group of young ladies had so much faith and determination, more than I have ever seen in any team," said Coach Catherine Messenger. "They showed with their confidence, faith in each other, and hard work that great things can and will happen. I could not be more proud of their outcome and of the heart they showed through each performance. They are all the true meaning of an American cheerleader, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for this group!"
The 2014-15 STA Cheerleaders are seniors Angelle Baiamonte, Jessica Camelo, Cathy Cannino, Carlye Galloway, Taylor Parent, and Taylor Ridgedell; juniors Reagan Greer, Hannah Mollere, Allie Ridgell, and Britley Wells; sophomore Abi Collins, Alyssa Finch, and Raeghen Henry; and freshmen Traci Carollo, Bailey Cavallero, Nicole Francois, Angie G'sell, Kayla Guillory, Abby Laine, Hunter Sandage, and Brittany Templet. They are coached by Catherine Messenger, Julia Smith, and Tyler Westbrook.
The girls will enjoy their summer for a few weeks and then begin preparing for football season.
