STARLETTES PLACE SECOND IN STATE DANCE COMPETITION

The STA Starlettes competed Sunday in the Universal Dance Association’s Louisiana State Dance Championship.  The Starlettes competed against top teams not only in the state, but also in the nation. “Our goal at State was to have an energetic, entertaining, and clean routine full of personality, and I think we absolutely delivered,” said coach Carley Cryer. “We are in such a great place leading into Nationals.”
Of all the routines in the competition, STA’s Hip Hop received a specialty award for Best Crowd Appeal.  The team placed second in Varsity Hip Hop and second in Varsity Jazz.
The Starlettes will compete in Small Varsity Jazz and Hip Hop at the National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Florida, January 31-February 4. You can follow the team online at www.varsity.com
