Student Council Donates Solar Shades for Commons

The STA Commons got a healthy "face-lift" this summer thanks to a generous donation from the Student Councils of 2012-13 and 2013-14. Solar shades were installed on all windows in the Commons. These shades not only will eliminate the glare problems during Mass and other functions, but they will also save money on heating and cooling, as well as block UV rays. "What a great idea this was," said Principal Jose Becerra. "People are always commenting on the sun and the heat in the Commons, and this gift from our Student Council will alleviate much of that problem."
