From Falcons to a Lion and a Cowgirl

Seniors Regan Bolton and Courtney Dawsey joined together for signing day as the pair each inked their names to play basketball at the next level. Bolton, a 5'8' shooting guard, will be headed to join former STA Lady Falcon standout Amber Donnes at McNeese State University, while Dawsey, a 5'5" guard, is headed to Southeastern Louisiana University to join the Lady Lions.

Bolton is well on her way to becoming one of the most prolific scorers in STA history. She was an LWSA All-State selection for the Falcons last season and helped lead the team to a semifinal berth at the Top 28 Tournament. As a junior, Bolton averaged nearly 17 points per game and was voted by her teammates and coaches as the team's Most Outstanding Player. Bolton is a physical player with great body control that helps her score inside the lane, but her ability to score from the perimeter is what sets her apart.

Dawsey, who has excellent ball handling skills and court awareness, was also an LWSA All-State selection in 2015. She averaged 10.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.8 rebounds last season and was voted District MVP. Dawsey has already scored over 1,000 points in her career, but her ability to protect and distribute the basketball is what makes her special. The senior guard is a great athlete who can finish around the goal with either hand and is always asked to defend the other team's best player.
