Judge Cashe Chosen as Distinguished Graduate

Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School and the Falcon Alumni Association are pleased to announce the selection of Judge Jeffrey Cashe as the school’s 2016 Distinguished Graduate.  After graduating as part of STA’s second graduating class in 1991, Cashe continued his education at Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State University before receiving his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s School of Law, a Catholic University in San Antonio, Tex. Currently he is serving as the Judge for the Division J Family Court in the 21st Judicial District.

Cashe began his law career with the firm of Baucum Steed Barker LLC in San Antonio and then returned home to Hammond to join the firm of Cashe Coudrain & Sandage, a firm founded by his late father, Rodney Cashe.  He has been active in leadership roles in both the legal arena and in his community. He served as the President of the 21st JDC Bar Association as well as a Board Member and pro-bono Counsel for the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation. Cashe has also served on the Boards of the Hammond Downtown Development District, Hammond Chamber of Commerce, and the Home Mortgage Authority.

“I am honored to have been selected as St. Thomas Aquinas’ Distinguished Graduate,” said Cashe. “I have nothing but fond memories of my years at STA, and many of my classmates have been lifelong friends. The Catholic foundation and principles taught to me at STA have been an integral part of my value system and guide me in every aspect of my life. I am very grateful for all that St. Thomas Aquinas provided to me.”

Judge Cashe and his wife Sandra have one daughter: Isabelle, age 12. He will be honored at a ceremony in Baton Rouge during Catholic School’s Week in February.
