STA Students Selected for Honor Choir

Congratulations to four STA students who recently competed in a series of Honor Choir competitions.  Juniors Sadie Daugereaux and Laura Huggett, and freshman Laura Anthon submitted digital auditions to compete for the Louisiana Choral Director’s Association All-State Choirs. All three were selected to perform with these prestigious groups at the LA Fall Vocal Conference in Baton Rouge in late October. Daugereaux and Huggett will sing with the Women’s Choir and Anthon will sing with the Youth Choir, along with a hundred other singers from around the state.  Senior Stephen Anthon joined the trio in auditioning for the Louisiana Music Educator's Association All-State SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) Choir and District IX Honor Choir. All four students were chosen by a blind, live audition to sing with the District Senior High Honor Choir. All four were ranked in the top 6 singers on their voice part, and therefore qualify to audition for the 2nd round of LMEA auditions. On Oct. 12 they will travel to Lafayette High for the final audition which includes a prepared selection for 8 voices (SSAATTBB) and sight-reading.   Good luck Falcons!
