Volleyball Team Hosts Successful Pink-Out Activities

The STA Lady Falcons Volleyball Team had a fantastic Pink-Out Day, but by far, the best part was defeating Ponchatoula in the volleyball game.

"Pink-Out Day" is an annual event for the team to raise awareness and funds during Breast Cancer Awareness month. The team sold Pink-Out T-shirts to be worn by students on Pink-Out Day, which was also the first day of Homecoming Week. They sold decals in memory of and in honor of breast cancer survivors, and also hosted a Bake Sale on Pink-Out Day, both during school and at the game.

The school day culminated with a student volleyball game where the seniors challenged the other classes and were victorious 32-20.  However, the faculty showed the seniors who was boss during the faculty-student game with a 36-18 victory!

The STA family returned to campus for the STA-Ponchatoula game, where STA won the match 3-2 in a five-game series. Volleyball seniors Colleen Daley, Savannah Laborde, and Payten Powell were honored prior to the games.  When all monies were counted, STA will contribute $2700 to be donated to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for breast cancer research.
