Senior Meghan Becerra signed a letter of intent to attend Mississippi College where she will run cross country and track for the Lady Choctaws. Mississippi College is a four-year college affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and located in Clinton, Mississippi.

Juniors and seniors from Saint Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School participated in a two-day Job Shadowing / Career Exploration experience. Students chose one of two days in which to shadow a professional in a career field of their choice. In addition to the job shadow experience, the students also attended presentations on career choice, college planning, and financial planning, and had the opportunity to explore their personality traits through a Myers-Briggs type assessment.

More than 50 STA students participated in the District Literary Rally held at Southeastern Louisiana University. Three students placed first: Rachael White in Art 4, Julia Rossano in English 4, and Ethan Mixon in World Geography. White also received a Southeastern scholarship.

STA senior Brett Benton is recognized by Academic Assistant Principal Alicia Oalmann McDaniel for his composite score of 30 on the ACT College Placement Test. The Veritas ACT 30+ Award at STA is given to all students who receive a composite score of 30 or above on the ACT.

STA has selected Mrs. Lauren Sampey as their 2017 Mother Seton recipient. This award was created by the Diocese to honor those individuals whose volunteer service and dedication to home, school, and Church has been exemplary. Mother Seton recipients have strong Catholic values and a selfless dedication to Catholic education.
